Course Description:

This course is designed for students who intend to engage in a heavy civil litigation practice. The course focuses on the practical and theoretical aspects of taking depositions in complex cases. Students will prepare for, take and defend depositions in simulated cases.

This course will be graded on a P/U/NC basis.

Course Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the course, students will have developed and practiced a host of deposition skills:
1. Developing a theory of the case

2. Strategic decision-making

3. Legal storytelling

4. Taking depositions

5. Defending Depositions
