This is a course for upper-level students with a serious interest in going into prosecution or criminal defense. Issues covered in this two credit course will include: prosecutorial discretion; grand jury proceedings; plea bargaining; Brady disclosures; the Confrontation Clause; sentencing; ineffective assistance; qualified immunity and Section 1983; and new developments in Fourth Amendment law.
