General Course Description:
This course is a comprehensive four credit introduction to U.S. copyright law. The course begins with copyright's underlying policies and theoretical framework. It then examines the requirements for copyrightability, the bundle of rights that make up copyright, fair use and other exceptions and limitations to copyrights, copyright ownership and transfer, moral rights, copyright duration, contributory and vicarious liability, the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, and remedies for copyright infringement.
